Beyond Positive Affirmations. Seminar for the HK NLP Club
When Positive Affirmations, Positive Thinking and Self Help books stop working.
Do you at times have the feelings of being driven – “trying harder”, “being stronger”, “being more positive” “doing more” to fix an issue in your life?
This will never be enough. It is like declaring war on any symptom of unease and on issues and no matter what, the inner tension you sense may only temporarily go away, but will come back with a bite.
Some simple effective tools can be used whenever your mind oscillate between negative, impeding thoughts that drag you down, and the counter-balance we’ve been taught to apply, that of fixing this state by being “positive”. In this hectic world that we live in … We live in a hectic world and on a daily basis are faced with much higher levels of stress and more crisis situations than ever before. How can we learn to rid ourselves of the tension that manifests itself through nagging thoughts and behaviour? How can we free ourselves from the effects of crisis and trauma to transform our consciousness and tap into our inner joy and innate wisdom? What can we do to release the memories of past pain, grief and anguish, and to regain our peace of mind? Is it possible to live a life free of bodily tension and negative thoughts and enjoy greater physical and mental health as a result?
There is a way! Mind-Body Bridging (MBB) is one of a new generation of healing modalities. It has been hailed as a medical breakthrough and combines 21st century neurologically-based findings in mind-body interaction with centuries-old healing traditions and mindfulness practices.
Learning the tools of MBB allows us to reach a level of inner peace as we journey through life’s difficult situations. By bridging the gap between mind and body, we can reach improved levels of physical and mental functioning that allow ourselves to heal various conditions that include childhood or present trauma, depression, addiction, chronic illness or pain, tension headaches and weight issues.
The tools of Mind-Body Bridging are easily assimilated, and can be practiced anytime, anywhere, especially “in the heat of the moment”. They do not require us to attend regular yoga or meditation classes, nor to sign up for talk-therapy sessions. They do not promise quick fixes for one condition, but work deeply and consistently to improve and change the very fabric of our inner being.
Through the practice of MBB we can empower ourselves to reach improved levels of work, athletic and personal performance and to change the behavioural and emotional habits that cause distress not only to ourselves, but to our loved ones. The results are not only permanent, but work holistically to positively transform all aspects of our lives.
Course Outline
Session 1 & 2 (Friday)
- What is MBB?
- About self discovery and healing personal issues
- The first tools of MBB – applying them in daily life
Session 3 & 4 (Saturday)
- Melt away tension, improve your daily life
- Story lines and using the second tools of MBB
- Breaking the tyranny of negative thoughts
- Befriending our thoughts and feelings, the third tools of MBB
- When despite our best efforts all seem to go wrong: let go of the “try harder” attitude
Session 5 and 6 (Saturday)
- Fixing fixations: when positive thinking is not enough, the next tools of MBB.
- Moving toward resolving wounding, issues and traumas
- Dealing with fears and their triggers
- Life at its best
- After care
Course Details
The course will run on Friday 8th from 6:30pm – 9pm, and on Saturday 9th April from 9:30am – 5pm, with a one-hour lunch-break. Refreshments and drinks will be provided.
The venue is: The Center, 99 Queen’s Road Central.
